Check this out a Bikini that will charge your iPod. Ok, it might not be that useful, but on the other hand, when your bikini is on there ought to be a lot of sun. Of course you could adapt it for cellphones or GPS systems. Here is another example of a homemade solar charger, this time combined with a waterproof bags to store your electronic devices in.

Orange has displayed a wind powered cellphone charger. Weighing a mere 150 grams (6 ounces) without tent mount makes it a nice alternative to heavy solar powered systems. It’s just a prototype so far but hopefully it makes it into production.
