The Corrie 1 & 2 are new tents from Kelty for spring 2008. Just as the names suggest the Corrie 1 is a solo tent and the Corrie 2 is a 2 person tent. Corrie 1 weighs 1.81 kg and Corrie 2 weighs 2.06 kg. The tent has been classed as 3 season backcountry light tents.

The Hoodoo 3 is a 3 person 3 season freestanding tent from REI. The weight is 3.17 kilograms. If you really want to get into details.. check here.

Nemo’s Losi tent is now available in a 3 person variant. The new variant is still freestanding and weighs 3.04 kg.

Surfing the Haglöfs website I noticed that all tents had been removed, a quick mail to Haglöfs confirmed my suspicions, Haglöfs quits the tent making business. From the Spring/Summer 2008, tents will not be part of the Haglöfs product line, though some resellers might still have Haglöfs tents in stock. So if you are look to buy a Haglöfs tent hurry up..

Vålå is a new series of tents from Swedish Fjällräven. The new series hold 5 new tents, Vålå II, Vålå III, Vålå IV, Vålå Dome II, Vålå Dome III. The first three are tunnel tents and the last two are self supporting dome tents. Design to be three seasons tents, they are not the lightest on the market, but they looks to be quite price-worthy. Quarter Dome is a new freestanding tent from REI. It’s available in a solo, a 2-person and a 3-person variant and it looks like it has an interesting pole configuration. The weights are solo: 3 lbs. 4 oz. (1.47 kg), 2-person: 4 lbs. 2 oz. (1.87 kg) and 3-person: 5 lbs. (2.27 kg). The two and three person variants has dual doors and vestibules.

The new 2008 tents from Hilleberg, Soulo, Allak and Kaitum 3 is now available in stores. In Sweden GetOut.se has them for sale and in the US they are available at hilleberg.com.

Just noted that Big Agnes has release a few new tents for 2008. Copper Spur UL2 (above) and Copper Spur UL3 are the lightest backpacking tents made by Big Agnes so far. The Copper Spur UL2 weighs 3lb 6oz (1530 grams) and the Copper Spur UL3 weighs 4lb 3oz (1900 grams). It looks like it has an interesting design to keep the fly tensioned.

Pine Island 4 is a free standing three season camping or base camp tent with dual doors and vestibules. It weighs 8lb 11oz (3940 grams).

Mine Mountain is a new four season series that holds two new tents, Spring Ridge 2 (above) and Royal Flush 3 (below). The Spring Ridge 2 weighs 5lb (2270 grams) and the Royal Flush 3weighs 7lb 7oz (3375 grams). There is also a new bivy sack in water proof eVent fabric called Three Wire Bivy.
