As reported before, but without photos, The Mirage is a lightweight two-person double wall tent with a built in vestibule, the weight is 2.0kg. The tent has a free standing design and can be setup with fly only and optional ground cloth. The tent will be available for 2008.

Black Diamond has two new tents coming for 2008, the Oasis(above) and the Mirage. The Mirage is a lightweight two-person double wall tent with a built in vestibule, the weight is 2.0kg. The Oasis is the three person variant of the Mirage, it weights 2.8 kg. Both the tents has a free standing design and can be setup with fly only and optional ground cloth.

The Speed 40 backpack from Black Diamond is an general-purpose alpinist backpack. It is equipped with a hydration system and weighs 1.1 kg and has a 40 liter volume.

Black Diamonds Cosmo headlamp will get an update for 2008. Externally it will be the same, but on the inside it will be updated with one ½ Watt LED and two SuperBright LEDs. The range of the headlamp will be 38 meter and the weight will be 80 gram.

Black Diamond smallest headlamp, the Ion will be loosing a LED for next year. Are Black Diamond gearing up to compete with Petzl E+Lite? The old Ion weights 30g (including battery) how much the new one will weigh is unknown.

Black Diamond has released their new crampon, designed for mixed climbing or hard mountain routes, the Cyborg. It’s a semi-rigid deisgn weighing 1.17 kg.
