The market for mini headlamps is getting crowded, Coleman will be releasing their Exponent Mini Headlamp, early 2008. It weighs 1.4 ounces and has three different modes High, Low and Emergency(I’m guessing that means blinking). The batteries will last 7 hours on low and 2 hours on high.

Coleman is really trying to get into the market of serious outdoor gear. The new Exponent Denali multifuel stove has been tested on an Everest expedition.

The stove produces 14,500 BTU burning butane/propane, 11,000 BTU for Coleman liquid fuel and 10,000 BTU for kerosene. Standard boil time of water ranges between three minutes and 20 seconds to four minutes and 10 seconds depending on fuel. The weight will be 11.5 oz (326 gram). A system of quick-connect fuel connectors make it easy to switch fuel source.

Coleman will have two new LED lanterns, available from spring 2007. They both feature three light modes: High, Low and Emergency Strobe. Here’s facts:

Coleman is really giving it all in 2007 when it comes to sleeping bags, they will release no less than 15 new bags in the Exponent serie.

First of the Klickitat bags, they all use Climashield XP continuous filament insulation and has an outer shell of Tactel nylon ripstop. They feature sculped hood and a trapeziodal foot section.

New for 2007 by Coleman will be two headlamps the 3AAA (ontop) and the 4AA. They both features two white, ultra-bright LEDs for diffused light and three white LEDs for a wider path of light. Other features include red light for night use and a strobe mode for emergency. They are both fitted with three strap on headbands for greater comfort. The 3AAA has a bright .5-watt white LUXEON LED and the 4AA has a 1-watt white LUXEON LED.

Coleman will be giving their Exponent product range a serious boost next year and over the next few days I will give you the facts.

These four new three-season tents will make it into the Exponent product next year. They are all “fly-first” models, meaning that you raise the outer tent first and then the inner tent. Fly-first has been used by European and Asian tent manufacturer for some time and is very practial in rainy conditions.

The Avior X1 and X2 (image) has a wedge-tunnel design and pre-bent alumininum poles. The X1 is a single person tent and the X2 is made for two persons. The X2 also features dual doors.
